Sara here, ready to blog up a storm for you! I’m one of two cast members in Proforça’s production of Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens who is a return traveller to Frottage III and I have to say with absolute certainty that you can never have too much of a good thing!
Last year I proudly wore the ‘Queen of the Vixens’ crown for TwoBox and it’s definitely one of those roles where if I was asked what I’d love to play again, this would be the answer. The universe clearly listened as here I am, strutting my glitter boots about with the fabulous Proforça crew.
We are less than a month from opening now and the show is looking absolutely fab! Working with David, Harriet and Erin has been a dream. It’s been a fun challenge relearning those harmonies and rejigging my muscle memory to bust out the innovative and spunktacular dance moves.
For those of you who don’t know the show, (and don’t worry, there will be no real spoilers here!) Jubilee Climax is the leader of the Space Vixens – the intergalactic space police fighting for justice, fuelled by the power of funk and disco! The Space Vixens are crime fighting glitter goddesses who you don’t want to mess with and Jubilee, well, she may have a tough exterior but she has a haunted past that comes back to challenge her BUT I SAY NO MORE!! You simply MUST buy a ticket to the show to find out what happens next.
Returning to the role of Jubilee has been the absolute best! Not only have I relished in meeting new people who are equally fanatical about the show and seeing new versions of the characters I know and love, but getting a chance to relive such a beautiful character, I just… oh who am I kidding?! You want someone to lace up those boots, surround themselves with PVC, lurex and glitter, dance to ‘Glitter Boots Saved My Life’ and belt out ‘Living in Hell’ – I’m your gal!
