In his role as Artistic Director, David is responsible for overseeing the programming, direction and day-to-day management for Proforca's creative projects.

For Proforça, credits include "If I Go" - May 2016, (Director / Executive Producer) "Saucy Jack & the Space Vixens" - Nov 2016 (Director / Executive Producer), "The Importance of Being Earnest" and "Reading Gaol for our "Project Wilde" series of productions in Autumn 2017. (Director / Executive Producer)

David was also the Director and Executive producer of "Feel" (Multiple venues, Spring 2018) and Executive Producer / Script Editor for "Feel More" (Spring 2018) and “Reading Gaol” (Jul 2018) - Theatre N16.

Other credits include directing “Getting Rid” (Aug 2018) for Actor Awareness and Producer of “Bluebird” (Jul 2018 - Space Arts Centre) and “2nd Coming Again” (Oct 2018 - Theatre N16)

JESS BARTON

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - FEEL

Jess is a director, writer, and producer based in London.

With a degree in Drama and English from Sussex University, Jess specialised in the uncanniness of reflection and the use of blood work in performance, and is fascinated with body language and the use of non-verbal communication. Her interest in theatre extends from a desire to expose and understand what it means to be human.

As co-founder of Fight or Flight Productions her work has been performed throughout London and Brighton - credits include “Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons” Director (Jan-May 2017, London Tour and Brighton Fringe), “The Secret Garden” Director and Co-Writer (Feb 2015, May 2013), “Calm Before The Storm” Director and Co-Writer (Sept 2014), “Witch: A Trilogy” Director and Co-Writer (Jan-Mar 2014), “The Last Five Years” Director (Oct 2013), ”Company” Director (Dec 2012), and “Rent” Director (Feb 2012). Other directing credits include “Isn’t He Handsome” (Jun 2018), “Leaving” (Oct 2016), and “Gone Fishing” (Mar 2016) for Falling Pennies.

Originally from Oxford, Jess has lived in Brighton, Dubai, and Paris, before settling in London. She has regularly found herself stage managing immersive horror experiences, and moonlights as an experiential producer for Bearded Kitten.

HANNAH BATES

WRITER - FEEL MORE

Hannah is a playwright based in London, but was born and raised in Hastings. Her experience of growing up in a small town by the sea has heavily influenced her early work, and she often pushes the idea of location as its own character.

After graduating last year she founded the women’s writers group ‘Kine productions’. This collaboration with University in the Arts brings emerging female writers on stage, and the group host their workshops at The Bush Theatre and Theatre503. Her credits are 'Remote’ at Theatre503 and 'A night of new’ at Fitzroy house.

Hannah is now studying her Masters in Dramatic Writing at Central Saint Martins.

MARCUS BERNARD

WRITER - FEEL MORE

Marcus is a London-based writer, raised in a working-class, multi-racial family. His experiences of growing up in a multicultural household forms an important part of his writing, he is passionate about exploring the intersection between mental health and racial identity in his work.

His credits include "Light Work" at White Bear Theatre (Cuckoo Bang, Jul 2018) and "Flightless" at Theatre503 (Rapid Write Response, Sep 2018). He is part of the 2018/19 cohort of the Soho Theatre Writers' Lab. In November 2018, a showcase of his first full length play will be performed at the Arcola theatre. 

Outside of playwriting, Marcus also acts as Story Producer for London chapter of the Mortified Live show, a spin-off of the Mortified podcast and the hit Netflix documentary Mortified Nation.

PAUL BRADSHAW

WRITER - FEEL MORE (2019)

Paul is an actor, writer and director born and raised in London.

He trained in Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Since graduating in 2014 he has worked as an actor at prestigious venues including Pitlochry Festival Theatre, The Lyceum (West End) and Theatre Royal Stratford East.

As well as performing he has been involved in several workshops and New Writing schemes at The Criterion (West End) and The Other Palace. In doing these exciting projects he gained the confidence to put pen to paper.

Since June 2018 Paul has written and work shopped two pieces. His full length piece ‘Two Cities’ was shortlisted for ‘Sketching’ by James Graham and his short play ‘West 11’ will be performed as part of Little Pieces of Gold at The Space in October 2018.

In the short time Paul has been writing he has focused on stories of the working class and is really keen to share narratives that aren’t demonising and avoid the usual stereotypes they are portrayed in.

Paul is really grateful for the unique opportunity that is ‘Feel More’ and can not wait to get started with the team.

FERGUS CHURCH

WRITER - FEEL MORE

Fergus is a writer from London and a recent graduate of the University of Exeter, where he studied English. He is currently living his lifelong dream of being a struggling writer working at Waterstones.

His recent writing credits include Like Matilda (November 2017 - Theatre503), A Bit Of Fun (October 2017 – The Hidden Theatre Company), Littleness (May 2017 – Theatre With Teeth) and The Forecast: A New Musical (June 2016 – T3 Festival). His monologue Tapestry was also longlisted for Heretic Theatre’s Heretic Voices and will be performed in February.

Fergus is also an actor and singer, having performed in numerous musicals including Argosy Theatre Company’s The House of Edgar(August 2016), which was nominated for a Brighton Fringe Award and Shotgun Theatre’s Godspell (August 2017), both at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

His work aims to find wonder within the ordinary and explore LGBTQ+ themes; one day he wants to write a gay version of Amélie.

For Proforca Theatre Fergus contributed “Jackie” to “Feel More” (2018) and we are delighted to welcome him back to #TeamFeel for a whole new adventure.

JACK ALBERT COOK

WRITER - FEEL MORE

Jack is a writer based in London, but originally from Co. Durham. He attended Bath Spa University for four years, graduating with a BA in Drama (2015) and a MA in Scriptwriting (2017) respectively.

As a writer, his work has been been performed across London, Bath and Oxford. Credits include: When Will It Be Me? at Bath Fringe 2016, Turkey Blaster (extract) at Tristan Bates Theatre (as part of EMERGE) 2017, Comedy Trolls (writer) at The North Wall Arts Centre, 2017, Eight Percent (short) at Theatre 503, 2017, The Mother Lands(short) at Theatre 503, 2018. He is currently developing the latter into a full length play.

ALEXANDER KNOTT

WRITER - FEEL MORE

Alexander is writer and theatre-maker from South London. He trained as an actor at Italia Conti Acting, before Co-Founding grassroots theatre company Bag of Beard, and is currently Resident Writer and Co-Director of BoxLess Physical Theatre.

His writing credits include 'Bath' (The Bread & Roses Theatre, Bag of Beard) and 'LOOP' (Theatre N16 / Theatre Royal Stratford East & Tour, BoxLess Physical Theatre), which was named as one of the Top 10 Off West End Plays of 2017 by Theatre Weekly. His current work includes dramaturgy on 'Renaissance Men', which will be produced by Bag of Beard in November at The Old Red Lion Theatre.

Alexander is thrilled to be a part of team 'Feel More' and is hugely excited to bring a part of the 'Feel' story to life.
